TRANSPORTATION OF ANIMALS

WARNING! It is forbidden to transport animals as checked baggage on Boeing 757-300 aircraft.

The transportation of animals is regulated by the requirements of the state authorities of the country of export, import and transit. In order to carry out transportation, the passenger must ensure that the following documents are available:

  • permission for the export, import or transit of the animal for the relevant country;
  • a valid medical certificate, vaccination certificate and other documents required by specialized services for compliance with sanitary and quarantine rules in countries of export, import or transit.

Transportation of domestic animals shall be fulfilled on condition the passenger receives a

permission from the airline while making his/her reservation before transportation.

Animals shall obligatory be properly placed in containers/cages and shall have valid certificates

pertaining to vaccination and health status, permissions to enter the country of destination or transit.

Animals must be clean, neat and without unpleasant smell.

The airline shall have a right to determine the method of transportation and limit the number of

animals, which are allowed for transport by one flight.

The size of the container for the transportation of the animal (birds) in the passenger compartment of the aircraft should not exceed the size of 30x50x40 cm. The animal in the container must be able to stand, turn freely and lie down. The joint transportation of cats and dogs in the same container is not allowed. A passenger can transport no more than one container with an animal.

Animals can be transported on airline flights in the passenger cabin:

  • small animals (dogs, cats, domestic birds and other domestic animals)

Total weight with means of transportation does not exceed 8 kg. Bird cages should be covered with dense light-proof material.

On the airline's charter flights, it is possible to transport no more than two containers with live animals for each class of passenger cabin service. During air transportation, the container with live animals must be placed under the seat located in front of the passenger.

If the weight of animals with a container exceeds 8 kg, transportation is carried out only in the baggage and cargo compartments of the aircraft (except for guide dogs).

If the weight of animals with a container exceeds 32 kg, transportation is carried out only as cargo

Transportation of service animals in the aircraft cabin

It is allowed to transport in the passenger cabin :

  • service dogs accompanied by a dog-breeder;
  • seeing-eye dogs for blind and deaf passengers, provided that the animals have a collar and a muzzle;
  • assistant dogs of employees of state bodies, rescue teams.

Service dog, guide dog must be tied to the seat near the feet of the passenger or dog-breeder. Seats for passengers with guide dogs are provided at the end of the cabin.

Transportation of service animals with a container and products for their food is free of charge. Weight and dimensions are not limited under the following conditions:

  • Transportation of a service animal in the aircraft cabin shall be agreed with the airline in advance;
  • Service animals accepted for transportation shall be clean and healthy
  • Service dogs must have collars, leashes and muzzles.
  • At the request of the airline, documents confirming the training of the dog to perform the functions of an escort, as well as the need for such an escort for the passenger who made the corresponding request, must be provided

Animals accepted for transportation shall be clean and healthy

The container (cage) for transporting animals must meet the following standards:

  • has dimensions that allow the animal to stand, turn freely and lie down naturally;
  • clean, protected from leakage, escape of the animal and scratching by claws;
  • convenient for transportation, loading/unloading, animal feeding, cleaning;
  • provides sufficient ventilation on at least three sides

WARNING! Transportation of animals in hand-made containers is prohibited.

The number of animals in one container is determined in accordance with the requirements, countries of destination and IATA recommendations. At the same time, the total weight of the container with the animals does not exceed 32 kg, and each animal has the opportunity to stand, turn freely and lie down naturally.

The passenger must provide food and water necessary for feeding the animal throughout the entire tracking route.

Only 1 container with live animal(s) per passenger is accepted for transportation in the baggage compartment of the aircraft.

The airline has the right to refuse to transport an animal if one or more of the above conditions are not met.
